THE PODCAST
Fertility Awareness-based Method (FABM's) is an umbrella term that refers to all methods of monitoring fertility and monitoring menstrual cycles for the purposes of pregnancy prevention or natural contraception or even just monitoring your health. Within that umbrella term there are lots of different types of FABM's. You've got calendar-only based methods, like the rhythm method where you've got your calendar, you're crossing off dates and counting the time between periods. A lot of apps are like that. And then you've got calculo-thermal methods which are when you're combining that calendar tracking with your temperature. So you've got apps that do that like "Natural Cycles" or "Daysy". And then you've got the cervical-mucous only methods. They are entire methods built around tracking cervical mucous. And then you've got symptothermal methods which are cervical-mucous and basal body temperature. And then you've got symptohormonal methods, which are basically cervical mucous and testing urinary hormone metabolites.
